Erdös is considered one of the greatest mathematicians of the 20th century; his name is reputed to be on more math papers than any other person. He wrote or co-authored 1,475 academic papers. His absent-mindedness was as legendary as his mathematical skills. On a trip to Caltech, he supposedly lost his sweater twice in one day.
